COACHES IN TRAINING
COACH IN TRAINING (CIT) Ages 14-16
For those responsible youth who are still interested in participating and taking a leadership role with their younger peers we provide a Coach-in-Training program. CIT’s stay on site at camp and assist the younger campers and our counselors.
Coaches-in-training will also be trained in leadership skills and be expected to act as role models.
CIT’s enjoy 3 meals a day and all Camp Tracy activities.
Requirements include: Applicable experience in the sport, two letters, of recommendation and a letter of intent.
What We Offer
At New England Sports Camps, Coaches in Training (CITs) are provided with many unique opportunities including:
-
Coaching youth athletes.
-
Running different drills and activities.
-
How to provide constructive criticism and positively reinforce athletes.
-
Defensive and Offensive coaching strategies
-
Learning to see the game from a coaches perspective.
-
Valuable leadership experience in a fun outdoor environment.
-
Traditional camp activities such as climbing, swimming, boating, evening activities, and camp games.
-
Working with Coaches on a daily basis to help facilitate games and practices.
How It Works
Coaches in Training check in on the same day as campers and will be assigned a cabin to stay in. While at camp, CITs are expected to set a positive behavioral example for campers to follow while on the field and in the cabins. As the week progresses CITs will have regular meetings with coaches and the camp directors to check on their experience and progress. Coaches evaluations will be filled out for each CIT and handed out at the end of the week for parents to see our feedback.
